While it may seem early, spooky season will be here before we know it. And diehard Halloween fans know that Halloween decor can come out as early as July. As a commerce editor, I pay close attention to specific pieces that come back year after year, as certain stock comes outs and sells out quickly. One such piece that we've been obsessed with since it went viral a few years ago — Home Depot’s 12-foot skeleton animatronic — is now back in stock for 2025.
Affectionately named Skelly, this skeleton is more than just larger than life, it has posable arms and features glowing LCD screen eyes. The eyes have eight different effects, including blue and hazel-colored "human" eyes, heart eyes, flame eyes and more. It measures 12 feet tall and 5.3 feet wide and can be used indoors (if you have high ceilings) or outdoors to haunt and awe trick-or-treaters. It also comes with a base to help keep it standing tall in an upright position.
The massive decoration initially went viral for its looming presence on front lawns across the country during the COVID-19 pandemic, and now we can count on the fact that we'll see Skelly in the wild every year. Hence why it tends to sell out. Shoppers often wait for restocks, so if you’ve been vying for one since last year, we recommend acting fast.
To add to the ghoulish fun, Home Depot introduced a 7-foot skeleton dog, a 5-foot skeleton cat and even more creepy animatronic friends to accompany him. But, if you live in a smaller space and can’t fit a 12-foot statue in your Halloween decor, we found slightly smaller skeletons that you can add to your mantle, entry table or front porch display.
