No one mourns the wicked — but I’ll definitely be mourning my bank account on September 1, when LEGO releases seven brand-new Wicked: For Good sets. Last fall, the brand launched four sets based on the first movie.

This year, they’re going bigger — and giving LEGO fans plenty of time to build before the Wicked sequel hits theaters on November 21. The sets vary in size and range from $20 to $160.

LEGO Wicked Emerald City Wall Art

Wicked Emerald City Wall Art

As a LEGO collector with limited shelf space, I personally love this wall art option that captures all the magic of Oz. This 1,518 piece set includes six minifigures (plus a tiny Toto), and is only 12.5" x 10" when completed. The striking contrast of the vivid greens with the pink background, and, of course, the yellow brick road, make this piece really stand out.

My favorite element is the bubble that opens for Glinda (the Good Witch) to fit inside, while Elphaba (the Wicked Witch) has a platform that makes it look like she's defying gravity. There's also a secret compartment with a door cover to store Dorothy Gale and friends. If you want this set, it's up for pre-order so you can have it on your doorstep the day it comes out... just like magic.

I'm also obsessed with the Glinda and Elphaba bookends. I like that they're functional when built and include thoughtful details like a tulip for Munchkinland and Elphaba's green elixir bottle. Both books as are packed with hidden secrets, and the Grimmerie opens to store the minifigures that come with the set.

If you are looking for more kid-friendly options, there are several playsets coming out in September as well, including one that has both Emerald City and the Kiamo Ko castle where Elphaba resides during the second part of the movie. There are even flying monkeys (not a spoiler if you've ever seen the Wizard of Oz). I'm also a big fan of the Brickheadz line, because they are super fast to build and at an affordable price point. Additionally, you can get both Glinda and Elphaba figures for just $20 total.

While some of these sets are available to pre-order, others won't be until September 1. If you simply can't wait, a few of last year's sets are still available, including the Emerald City, Glinda's very pink dorm at Shiz, or a posable Glinda and Elphaba set.
