Your child's school has likely released its back-to-school supplies list by now. Along with fresh notebooks, your student probably needs binders, sharpened pencils or pens, a padlock for their locker or gym locker and so much (so much) more.
As a mom, I appreciate one-stop shopping on a budget, so I'm here to tell you that Walmart's back-to-school section is stocked with all of the aforementioned essentials at some of the best prices I'm seeing right now. I'm talking must-have two-pocket folders for 25 cents each and wide-ruled notebooks for 35 cents a piece.
You can also upgrade your kid's backpack and lunch box for under $20 — and while you're at it, pick up tech they'll need, like a scientific calculator, earbuds or a portable charger. And dare I say it? Picture day is right around the corner, so peruse Walmart's underrated dresses and shirts below, too.
Back-to-School Supplies Under $10
We love seeing household names like Crayola and BIC for so cheap, along with value-heavy Walmart brands like Pen + Gear.
Back-to-School Supplies Under $20
The brand behind our favorite bento lunchbox for little kids, Bentgo, has a similar lunchbox with the same features we love for under $20. Also, Arctic Zone, the brand behind our best overall soft-side cooler, has a smaller lunchbag option for kids.
Back-to-School Tech
Our Lab pros regularly recommend the Tile Bluetooth tracker, and it's the perfect solution for backpacks and lunchbags that mysteriously disappear throughout the school day. We were also pleased to see Skullcandy at a great markdown — we liked a wireless earbud version of the Skullcandy Jib so much that it earned a Good Housekeeping Sustainable Innovation Award in recent years.
Back-to-School Clothes
Among these picks include pieces from one of our Textile Lab's favorite kids' clothing brands, Wonder Nation. It's widely accessible, plus it offers exceptional value and variety. Crocs is also on this list, and we've recommended Crocs several times due to its comfortable and functional fit, plus the fact that it's easy to clean.
