Whenever I'm on vacation, I look forward to seeing waterfalls, lighthouses and most of all, castles. While I haven't been to Germany to see the Neuschwanstein Castle just yet, it's on my travel bucket list.
After all, it's apparently the real inspiration behind Disney's Sleeping Beauty castle. So when LEGO announced it was turning the iconic castle into a LEGO set, I instantly added it to my wish list. And today it officially hit shelves.
While it's certainly a splurge at $279, it's a one-of-a-kind set that very likely will get retired eventually, (I'm still kicking myself for not buying the Taj Mahal before it was discontinued.) So if it makes your Disney-loving or wanderlust heart flutter, don't wait.
The 3,455-piece set is designed for adults 18 and up with LEGO-building experience, and it looks straight out of a fairytale once complete. Because it measures out to 12-inches tall and 18-inches long, you'll want to make some room to display it, because it's undoubtedly worthy of showing off.
This isn't the first time LEGO has knocked it out of the park with an architectural set: The Trevi Fountain is an absolutely stunning replica and the brand reached new heights with the nearly-five-foot-tall Eiffel Tower (one of its largest sets ever).
I love these sets because they offer a special way to commemorate a favorite trip or build a travel bucket list out of bricks. Luckily, they're not all upwards of $200, either, with these sweet Italy, Japan, London and New York postcards that start at $15.
