- Amazon Prime Day ends tonight! After four days of savings, Prime day wraps up at 11:59pm Pacific Time.
- With only hours left to shop, every Kindle model is still down to its lowest price of the year, with the steepest deal being 36% off the Kindle Colorsoft, Amazon's first-ever color E Ink device.
- One of the most popular deals has been 22% off the Kindle Paperwhite, which came out on top during Good Housekeeping Institute testing.
Whether you've been waiting for the right time to upgrade your e-reader or have been tempted to finally take the plunge on a Kindle, there's never been a better time to make your move: Amazon Prime Day is historically the best time of the year to save on Kindles — and the sale ends tonight.
With hours left, every single Kindle model — including the Colorsoft and an older model of the Good Housekeeping Institute-tested Kindle Scribe — is still up to 41% off, the lowest prices we've seen all year on these popular e-readers.
AMAZON PRIME DAY DEALS, RIGHT THIS WAY
Our team of shopping editors tracks prices on tech year-round, so we know that Kindle deals this deep won't come around again for months. Plus, I've been using Kindles since 2010 — I've owned four different models! — and I typically read about 150 books a year on the device, which means I not only know the best times to buy, but also which model is best for your reading habits.
Prime Day Kindle deals
Amazon Kindle (16GB) — $85 (23% off)
On sale for just $85, this Kindle is a solid pick for anyone looking to enter the world of e-readers. When tested by our Lab pros, Senior Reviews Writer and Analyst Olivia Lipski liked this entry-level Kindle's portability and wallet-friendly price point. Per Amazon, this Kindle has a six-inch glare-free display and up to six weeks of battery life.
Amazon Kids Bundle — $155 (52% off)
Planning to upgrade your family's tech setup this Prime Day? While this isn't a single Kindle deal, this 52% discount on Amazon's Kids Bundle is not to be missed. Not only does this come with a Kindle Fire HD 8 Kids Tablet, a Kindle Kids and an Echo Pop Kids, but the bundle includes a six-month subscription to Amazon Kids+, which includes thousands of books, games, videos, apps and Alexa Skills from brands like Disney, Nickelodeon and PBS Kids.
Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (16GB) — $125 (22% off)
Not only is the Paperwhite my Kindle model of choice, but it also came out on top over the basic Kindle model during our testing thanks to its waterproof build, warm light features and a slightly larger 7-inch screen. Plus, Amazon claims the Paperwhite's battery life can last up to 12 weeks.
Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition (32GB) — $150 (25% off)
The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition offers all of the same features as the standard Paperwhite — and then some. This model features wireless charging, 25% faster page turns and auto-adjusting light settings, in addition to maintaining the same IPX8 waterproof rating and slim design. Plus, this edition offers double the storage space.
Amazon Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition (32GB) — $180 (36% off)
Released in October 2024, the Colorsoft is Amazon's first-ever color device, offering the same glare-free, paper-like screen as other Kindles in full color. The brand claims Colorsoft also features a waterproof build, eight weeks of battery life and an auto-adjusting front light. Not only is this $100 discount the steepest Kindle deal we've found this Prime Day, but it also drops this device to its lowest price ever.
Amazon Kindle Scribe (16GB) — $260 (35% off)
Save $140 on this dual-purpose device during Prime Day. Unlike other Kindle devices, the Scribe comes with a stylus that allows you to annotate your books. After testing the Scribe, our Lab pros recommended this to shoppers looking for an e-reader that doubles as a digital notebook. Lipski especially liked this model's 10.2-inch screen and note-taking capabilities, saying, "[It] does an excellent job of replicating the real deal of that pen-to-paper feel."

How to save even more on Kindles today
Any time I buy a new Kindle, I take advantage of Amazon's trade-in program, which allows you to save an additional 20% when you send back an old Amazon device like a Kindle or Echo. Plus, your Prime Day Kindle purchase includes a free three-month subscription to Kindle Unlimited, which means access to thousands of books. This Prime Day, I plan to upgrade my 2019 Kindle Paperwhite to the Paperwhite Signature Edition, complete with auto-adjusting light and wireless charging.
