Bedding is notoriously difficult to shop for (especially online). Still, after years of testing the hundreds of bedding products as an analyst in the Good Housekeeping Institute Textiles Lab, I have to say that price doesn't always indicate quality: I've tried some sheets and comforters priced at over $1,000 that were nice, but only marginally better than options at a half, fourth or even tenth of the price.
Now, let me introduce you to my favorite bedding product of the year thus far: This gorgeous ribbed throw blanket from Bedsure. At full price, the most popular style (bought by over 10,000 users last month), a throw (50 in. by 60 in.) in off white is only $16. Now, you can add it to your cart for just $13.
At its regular retail price, it's already an amazing value. It blew our team of experts and at-home testers away, so we ended up giving it a Bedding Award. And after further review, it's now earned the Good Housekeeping Seal.
I've tested many different throw blankets at home, but this is my all-time favorite because of its ribbed design, lightweight feel and insanely soft yet velvety fabric, which doesn't shed fibers. Some faux-fur styles can feel overly heavy, so I love how light this one feels, though some may find it a bit thin.
In our tests, the lofty material washed easily, without losing any of its fluffiness. "It's now my go-to for snuggling on the couch, and I want to buy it in every color," said one tester, who gave it perfect scores across the board. Another commented, "It's the perfect, quintessential throw blanket, but it's also a little different from your typical sherpa throw blanket. The wide ribbed look is stunning and looks gorgeous on my bed."
Our home experts agreed: "The vertical detailing adds a special touch to this super-soft design," says Monique Valeris, home design director at Good Housekeeping. "[It's] an easy way to introduce more texture into a space and make it feel cozier." Plus, we love that it's available in nine sizes, ranging from a standard throw to an oversized king size (120 in. by 120 in.), and comes in 30 different colors to match virtually any home aesthetic. I personally have the most popular style (the throw blanket in off white) on my couch and a queen-size version in Lavender Fog on my bed.
Whether you wrap yourself in it for movie marathons, use it alongside a comforter in colder weather or gift it to a friend (like I plan to), we suggest adding it to your cart while it's on sale.
