As we dive deeper into the digital age, it seems like more and more retailers are closing down their brick-and-mortar shops and taking their brands online full-time. Not Wayfair, though. On the one-year anniversary of the massive retailer's first brick-and-mortar (outside Chicago, in Wilmette, Illinois), Wayfair just announced not one but two more huge outposts are opening up, both of which are on the East Coast. The first is slated to open in Atlanta in 2026, which is the most specific opening date we have, and the second is in Yonkers, which is about an hour outside midtown Manhattan, in early 2027.
That’s right; in only a few years, Wayfair will have three fully operational stores. Get all the details below.
Where Are the New Stores?
First and foremost, the original Wayfair store, which opened a year ago, spans 150,000 square feet in a shopping center about 30 minutes outside downtown Chicago. If you live in Illinois, you may be familiar with Edens Plaza in the suburban enclave of Wilmette, which already plays host to Bed, Bath & Beyond. As for the second store, the details are far and few between, but we do know that it's in Atlanta (whether it's OTP or ITP is unclear at the moment). The third store will probably open within the first half of 2027 in Yonkers, New York.
When Do They Open?
Sadly, we don't have official open dates yet, but we know that the Georgia location will open in 2026 and the New York one will open in early 2027. It's unclear if it will boast the same amenities as the Illinois location, which include what the brand calls a “Dream Center,” where you can test out the myriad mattresses; a Market Square, complete with textiles, decor, and small accessories; a design studio for free decorating advice; and a Porch, the clever name of Wayfair’s cafe.
What Do the Wayfair Stores Sell?
You can buy anything you’d snag online in the store as well. Of course, the sheer amount of stuff will be limited, considering just how much inventory is available online, but the store will sell thousands of pieces you can buy right off the floor. If you like something but want it in a different color, the associates will be able to order it for you and either ship it to your home for free or to the store for pickup.
What Are the Deals Like?
Much like any physical store, there will be sales on sales, so be prepared to shop for things you didn’t even know you needed because the savings will be that good. Because the store hasn’t yet opened, the exact sales and discounts haven’t been released, but we know they’ll be impressive.
