As far as we're concerned, there's a lot to love about Costco. We mean, where else can you stock up on toilet paper, buy a mammoth shed, and indulge in some snuggly sheets? The one gripe we do have is that it can be pretty tricky to find some of the retailer's most buzzy products in our local storefronts. The inventory often varies by location, so even snagging something as simple as a bouquet of LEGO flowers can feel like finding a trendy needle in a wholesaler's haystack.
However, a new feature on Costco's app is looking to make that search a lot easier. Daily Mail reported that the beloved retailer is currently beta-testing a "search warehouse inventory" feature. Instead of searching high and low for that really cool egg chair you saw online, the app will let you know where it is (and isn't) in stock. Think about all the time you'll save shopping!
So, how does this new feature work? The search option isn't available on the Costco app yet, but for now, you can tap the "Warehouse" tab at the bottom of your screen. (It's between "Account" and "Cart.") From there, you'll see a map of the nearest Costco stores, so you can pick your desired location. Simply select "Warehouse Details" to reveal everything from gas prices to the food court's direct line. Eventually, there will be a search bar where you can type in a desired product to see if it's in stock.
While we'll have to wait for the search feature to be released to the masses, we did find another pretty cool perk in the Costco app. If you scroll to the very bottom of your favorite location's "Warehouse Details" page, you'll see there's an entire section dedicated to special events. Translation? You can learn when buzzy products from Lovesac, Traeger, and even the Gorilla sheds are scheduled to be available in your neck of the woods.
