The humble backyard shed has evolved into something more versatile and, arguably, even cool in the past few years. Whether it serves as a tiny house, a "she" shed, a DIY studio, or a classic gardening retreat, these independent extensions of your living space can feel like luxurious getaways from your main property—as long as they're decorated properly. And if you have the backyard space, why not take advantage of whatever acreage you have to create something that makes your home a bit more interesting? Well, Costco (like always) has the perfect solution if you want something not too big, not too small: enter the Gorilla Shed Elite. You can check it out in-person before buying at your local Costco, and did we mention that you don't have to worry about installation either?
Instagram user Laura Lamb, who runs the Costco Hot Finds IG account, posted about this latest backyard find that is really a great bang for your buck, especially if you're not the type of person to build something yourself. Coming in three different sizes and starting at $4,500, the price of these elite sheds includes professional delivery and installation that should only take about two to three days on a properly prepared site, according to the website, so you don't have to get your hands dirty.
The sheds have a very spacious floor plan but come with enough storage space via shelves and side walls, and they're extremely versatile, coming to you as blank canvases for you to customize as you like.
Looking in Lamb's comment section, it appears her followers have their own ideas on what to do with these sheds. "Aw sweet, affordable housing," one commenter wrote, capturing the sentiment of many others. Another person added, "This will be perfect for my husband to sleep in when he's annoying me!" (Would that count as a man cave then?)
Though these sheds might not be the cheapest, considering all that they offer, from the weatherproof roof and siding to a flexible design to the operable windows, we think they come as a pretty good deal. However, if you want more affordable options, we found one from Amazon at under $700 along with more budget-friendly options that allow you to possibly buy two sheds versus just the one from Costco.
