Good Housekeeping knows bedding. Every year, we evaluate hundreds of mattresses, comforters, sheets and pillows in the Good Housekeeping Institute Textiles Lab. So, when we say something's the best, we mean it — and our Lab analysts can confirm that the Buffy Cloud Comforter (yes, the one that's all over your social media feeds), is worth the hype.
Here's the even better news: Presidents' Day sales are officially here. It's shaping up to be the first big shopping weekend of 2024, with major discounts on everything from furniture to appliances to Apple tech, and of course, mattresses and bedding. If bedding is what you're shopping for, we have a best-price guarantee at Buffy. From now through February 21, Good Housekeeping readers can take an exclusive 25% off sitewide using the promo code "GHEXCLUSIVE25."
"This down alternative comforter stands out for its innovative construction that helps keep it fluffy," says Lexie Sachs, the executive director of strategy and operations at the GH Institute. "Unlike individual clusters found in most comforters, the fill is a web of fibers that helps prevent clumping, cold spots and shedding through the cover." Sachs also noted that it's machine washable for easy upkeep and the smooth Tencel lyocell fabric was less stiff and crinkly than other comforters.
Our consumer panel of at-home testers agreed. As one person put it, "I liked how it has a silky, smooth feel that made me almost not want to use a duvet cover! The comforter is lightweight and fluffy." Another described it like sleeping in a cloud: "I've never slept under such a fluffy comforter," they said.
As a shopping editor who covers everything under the sun, I recently tested the Buffy comforter, too. It comes in a vacuum-sealed bag so I let it expand for a couple of hours before sliding it inside a duvet cover. Compared to my previous down-alternative duvet insert, I immediately noticed that the Buffy felt cooler and more lofty, even when stuffed inside the cover. Luckily for me as a hot sleeper, the mid-weight fill doesn't make me overheat either. The brand claims that it's an all-season comforter, so I look forward to testing it through the warmer summer months.
Beyond its viral comforter, Buffy also makes sheets, blankets and pillows that are popular among reviewers. Everything on the brand's site is included in our Presidents' Day sale, just don't forget to apply code "GHEXCLUSIVE25" at checkout for 25% off.
