'The Hunting Wives' Star Brittany Snow Shares Her Self-Care Essentials

The Pitch Perfect alum showed us what's in her bag.

By

In the Celebrity edition of What's in My Cart, stars reveal the everyday products they're shopping β€” complemented by expert insights from our editors and analysts when it's something we love too.

If you've already started watching Netflix's steamy new drama The Hunting Wives, then you've seen star Brittany Snow taking on a brand-new role as Sophie. The actress couldn't reveal much when she spoke to Good Housekeeping ahead of the show's release, because "everything is a spoiler" when it comes to the twisty eight-episode series. One thing she can talk about? Her partnership with Yankee Candle, and the personal connection she has to the brand.

"I have a charity called September Letters, in which we have people write a letter to themselves or someone else. Right before you write the letter, you light a candle and sit with yourself and be present in the moment. It's just a little act of self-care that you can do to make yourself feel more connected to the now," Brittany shares. "It's already a part of my self-care routine, and something that I do to just get back to myself."

The 39-year-old admits that in her early twenties, self-care pretty much just meant drinking water. Now, she says, she has "a routine and a practice. My journey through self-care has been ever evolving. As I get older, I get more present with my self-care. Something that really helps me with that is doing things that actually make me feel good and slow me down."

Keep reading to learn more about Brittany's self-care essentials, including her favorite beauty products.

Yankee Candle Sun & Sand

Brittany notes that Sun & Sand is her favorite Yankee Candle scent, because it reminds her of a treasured time with her loved ones.

"I have a particular memory of it on the counter of this timeshare that my family had. We would go every Christmas, and it really evokes a memory and a feeling that I have of being with my family and being at the beach and being all together," she says.

"[Lighting candles] is something that I like to do to call back to something that I am reminded of, but also to look forward to new memories that I might have one day with my future family."

"My friends and family would say that I put organic Stevia in everything," Brittany admits.

"It is in my purse, it's in my bags, it's in my pockets, it's in corners of my house. I might have a problem with Stevia, but I really do like my tea and coffee pretty sweet. It's not necessarily self-care, but it is something that I can't live without."

CozyChic Ribbed Throw Blanket

When she's on set, Brittany is all about comfort. She keeps candles, comfortable shoes and a fuzzy blanket in her trailer.

"I feel like that's an overarching theme for most actors and actresses β€” that bringing a candle that's evoking a scent and a memory does make you feel calmer and more focused," she explains. "I bring pictures of my friends and family and put them up, and I bring a cozy blanket because I'm always cold. My friends get me Barefoot Dreams, and my mom got me one."

"I'm just explaining the coziest situation that I can muster in my trailer," she laughs. "I love being in a trailer, too, so I like making sure that it's very homey and comfortable."

With its soft and stretchy fabric, the Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Throw is the best luxury throw blanket we've tested.
