Live from New York, it’s Saturday night!

Saturday Night Live's guest performances and comedy sketches are iconic. But late-night laughs and celebrity spoofs aren’t the only thing SNL produces — the show has also famously sparked several high-profile celebrity romances over the years. Some were short-lived (hello, Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande!), while others have led to lasting love (Emma Stone and her husband, anyone?). If you thought you saw sparks flying during certain skits, you weren’t imagining it. Whether they were hosting, performing or writing behind the scenes, these star-studded couples all met through the show — now in its 50th season.

So, should SNL stick to comedy, or has it earned official matchmaker status? You be the judge.

Colin Jost and Scarlett Johansson

CoJo and ScarJo first met on SNL in 2006 when she was hosting, but they didn’t start dating until 2017. Colin has been an SNL writer since 2005 and a co-anchor for the Weekend Update since 2014.

They made their red-carpet debut at the Avengers: Infinity War premiere and are still happily married, now sharing a son together, along with Scarlett’s daughter from a previous relationship. They’ve even starred in Super Bowl commercials together!

Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde

The Ted Lasso star was an SNL cast member from 2005 to 2013. He used a pickup line on actress and director Olivia Wilde at an SNL finale party in 2011. “He came up to me and he said, ‘You know, whatever you’re looking for, you don’t need it,’” Olivia has said.

They got engaged and were together for eight years before splitting (their messy separation involved a meltdown over salad dressing and a relationship with Harry Styles). Sudeikis and Wilde have two children together.

Dave McCary was an SNL writer and segment director from 2013-2018. He met Emma Stone when she hosted the show in 2016, and he directed her in the hilarious “wells for boys” skit. They married in 2020 and enjoy a private life together with their daughter.

Pete Davidson and Cazzie David

Cazzie David is the daughter of Curb Your Enthusiasm comedian Larry David, who made several guest appearances on SNL as Bernie Sanders and hosted the show twice. During one of his hosting gigs, his daughter Cazzie met SNL star Pete Davidson. The two dated for two and a half years — until Davidson reportedly ended things over text and quickly began dating Ariana Grande. Ouch!

Probably the most famous SNL couple, the two met when Ariana Grande hosted the show in 2016. At the time, Pete Davidson was still with Cazzie David, and Ariana Grande was with Mac Miller. Two years later, Davidson dumped Cazzie and was spotted at an SNL afterparty with Ariana Grande. They got engaged after only a few weeks of dating. After five months together and following the death of Mac Miller, they broke off their relationship.

Ariana Grande forever immortalized it in “Thank U, Next.”

Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian

Ok, Pete and Kim had technically met once before at a party for Kid Cudi’s birthday. But this famous fling sparked on the set of SNL when Kim hosted in 2021. In one of her skits, she kissed Pete Davidson as they played Jasmine and Aladdin. Although the kiss was scripted, their relationship wasn’t — the two dated for nine months after that, before splitting in 2022.

Fred Armisen was a cast member from 2002-2013. He met Mad Men actress Elizabeth Moss in 2008 when she joined a skit parodying her hit show. They quickly got engaged and tied the knot, but it was not a happy marriage.

Elisabeth told Page Six, “One of the greatest things I heard someone say about him is, ‘He’s so great at doing impersonations. But the greatest impersonation he does is that of a normal person.’” Meanwhile, Fred described their marriage as "extremely traumatic, awful and horrible." Clearly, the feelings were mutual.

Carrie Fisher hosted SNL in 1978 — and yes, there was a gold bikini involved for the Princess Leia actress. While hosting, she met her future husband Paul Simon. The two had a tumultuous relationship, marrying, divorcing and then dating on and off for another 12 years. Paul Simon was a good friend of SNL-creator Lorne Michaels — Paul even asked him to be best man at the wedding.
