Aja Naomi King first graced our TV screens back in 2014 as Michaela Pratt on ABC's Shonda Rhimes-produced legal drama How to Get Away With Murder (alongside the iconic Viola Davis, no less). A decade later, she's celebrating her first Emmy nomination for her role as Harriet Sloane in the Apple TV+ limited series Lessons In Chemistry.
"I'm so lucky that I get to do this thing that I love for a living. It is already such a tremendous honor to be an actor in this world and in this climate, and be working — and then on top of it, to do work that I really care about with people who have been so kind and have meant so much to me, and the process of working with them has been so incredible," Aja tells Good Housekeeping.
As a L'Oréal Paris USA brand ambassador, Aja also has the honor of working with the company's Women of Worth initiative to select their annual class of 10 female nonprofit leaders across the country. "That has been so incredible, to see how many women are making such tremendous changes in their communities," she says.
We spoke with the actress ahead of the announcement of the 2024 honorees, when Aja revealed the affordable skincare and beauty products she's currently loving, from serum to sunscreen. The 39-year-old also gave insight into her wellness routine and shared some of the fitness essentials that keep her feeling her best inside and out.
