When Howie asked what she would do with the $1 million prize, Madison opened up about her father's colon cancer. With that, the former Deal or No Deal host hit the golden buzzer. Madison has previously been called America's "Anthem Girl", performing at special events.

There was not a dry eye during the premiere of AGT season 17 when Avery Dixon opened up about his personal story of perseverance. The 21-year-old from Atlanta, Georgia, turned to the saxophone in elementary school after getting bullied for his appearance and voice. Following an emotional performance that got everyone up on their feet, Terry let Avery know that he now had a “big brother” who would look out for him. “Avery Dixon, you touched the heart of every human being,” the AGT host said.
