Guess what Hamilton fans? It looks we're getting another chance to be in the room where it happens.

The beloved Broadway show became a massive phenomenon among theater fans when it opened back in July 2015. What's more, people got the chance to experience the magic of the story of Alexander Hamilton, when a professional filming of the musical dropped on Disney+ in July 2020. Well, now that Hamilton is celebrating its 10th anniversary on the Great White Way, the show's playwright and original star Lin-Manuel Miranda has some incredible news to drop.

When Lin-Manuel appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on August 5, he announced that he was doing something fans weren't expecting. As he shared with host Jimmy Fallon, fans will be able to see Hamilton in movie theaters for the first time since the professional film dropped on streaming. And if that's not enough, folks in the United States and Puerto Rico can start watching the movie in cinemas beginning Friday, September 5, 2025.

"I have an announcement!" he exclaimed in a clip posted on YouTube. "So, tomorrow is the 10-year anniversary of Hamilton, and we’ve been celebrating all year. But we have one more way to celebrate. We filmed most of the original cast performing in Hamilton in 2016, and we always wanted to release it theatrically, but then the pandemic hit, and so we decided to release it on streaming so that everyone could see it at home whenever they wanted. But, September 5, you will be able to see Hamilton in movie theaters nationwide and in Puerto Rico."

Given the fact Hamilton has captured the hearts of so many, this new development had fans in a total frenzy online.

"Wow, this is, 'Peak!' Getting tickets for sure to see this in the theater! 👏😂," one person wrote in the comments. "Oh, I just have to live to September 5. I'll commit," another joked. "I’m crashing out right now. WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CAN WATCH HAMILTON, IN THEATERS, ON SEPTEMBER 5TH 🎉🎉🎉," a different follower added.

Now, this is definitely something to get excited about! And clearly Lin-Manuel is into the idea, too, thanks to his joint Instagram post with Hamilton featuring a movie trailer.

"Not a moment. A movement. #Hamilten," the caption read.

BRB — we're going to buy ourselves some movie tickets!
