Katie Lee Biegel is opening up about a deeply personal chapter in her life — and her story is striking an emotional chord with fans.

The Food Network star has been in the public eye for some time, and fans know she married her second husband, Ryan Biegel, in 2018 (she was previously married to Billy Joel from 2004 to 2009). And while the couple welcomed their daughter Iris in September 2020, Katie is opening up about the emotional journey she and Ryan took to start their family.

As The Kitchen co-host sat down for a July 30 episode of the Conversations With Cam podcast, she revealed to host Cameron Rogers that she never felt she'd ever experience becoming a mother. However, Katie also acknowledged that she took some steps to maintain a healthy mindset during this period of her life.

"I thought motherhood was an exclusive club that I would never be a member of," she shared in a clip posted on Instagram. "It can feel really lonely ... Just remember, it just takes one. You're looking for your one. I finally got my one, and that, you know, feels like such a gift to have that one."

But she didn’t stop there—when asked for advice on staying hopeful about fertility, Katie shared the strategies that helped her most.

"I'd also say if you can mute your social media while you're doing it, and do whatever you can not to look on Instagram or TikTok at other people's stories," she added. "I think there's a lot of misinformation, but I also think it creates anxiety to look at a lot of those posts. Have your doctor who you trust and let that doctor steer the ship."

When fans heard the snippet involving Katie's journey to motherhood, many decided to applaud her for being vulnerable about her experience with infertility.

"Awesome Katie, from the heart. Thank you for helping so many women to not feel so alone. Infertility is a very lonely space," one person wrote in the comments. "Katie has got the facts … keep speaking truths girl!!!!" another declared. "@katieleebiegel gave me hope when I was going through my own infertility/IVF journey. Thank you for sharing your story," a different follower added.
