This story contains light spoilers from the end of Sweet Magnolias season 4.

With Sweet Magnolias season 5 officially in production, it's no secret that fans are eager to know what happens to their favorite characters in Serenity. Well, JoAnna Garcia Swisher is spilling some potential secrets with her character Maddie Townsend — and it may be a clue about what's to come next.

When the actress sat down with Us Weekly for an interview published on July 31, she was asked if she could tease Maddie's relationship with her husband, Cal Maddox (Justin Bruening), in Sweet Magnolias season 5. Given that the fictional couple wed early on in Season 4 and Cal became a stepfather to Maddie's three children, is there potential to see the two expanding their already large family? As JoAnna teased to the publication, she doesn't know what the future holds — but she certainly enjoys seeing where the characters are at right now in the show.

"I actually just talked about this yesterday with Justin because I’m like, 'We never got a honeymoon,'" she told the outlet. "I don’t know if that will involve a little bun in the oven — or at least an opportunity. But I think it’s really been really sweet to see Cal step into this father role and Cal is knocking it out of the park."

"I don’t know if I do get pregnant," JoAnna added. "I hope it’s during the winter in Serenity, because it’s really hot right now. But I’m up for the journey."

Well, consider us intrigued! But how would a storyline like this play into the fact Maddie has accepted a big publishing job in New York City — and away from those she loves in Serenity? While JoAnna couldn't give away any spoilers about the new season, she did note she's excited to showcase all facets of Maddie as a mom, wife and working professional.

"For so long, Maddie had dedicated her life to her family," she explained. "So much has happened for her in such a short period of time ... So to get this opportunity to flex her muscles and be in a big city and feel that energy, I leaned into it and I really likened it to how I feel very lucky that I have a husband and kids that are supportive of my dreams and my career."

Well, we certainly can't wait for what's around the corner ... and hopefully Sweet Magnolias will be back on the air with season 5 very soon!
