HGTV star Jasmine Roth is opening up about something near and dear to her. No, it's not the upcoming season of Help! I Wrecked My House, but something even more precious.
In a recent interview with Future of Personal Health, Jasmine got candid about her daughter Hazel's health journey and thankfully it's all good news. The star revealed that her 5-year-old daughter is thriving after undergoing a tonsil and adenoid reduction surgery in November 2023 to treat pediatric sleep apnea.
"Hazel is sleeping like a champ!" Jasmine shared. "Five or six weeks after surgery, she slept through the night for the first time, which means we slept through the night. She has no issues, just goes to sleep, sleeps through the night, and wakes up in the morning, which anybody with a child knows is a big deal."
The HGTV host admitted that she had no idea children could suffer from sleep apnea until Hazel began having sleep issues as early as just six months old. By the time Hazel was three, Jasmine noticed "weird snorting noise" coming from her daughter when she slept. Luckily, after a visit to an ENT specialist and a sleep study, the Roth family was able to confirm that Hazel had borderline severe sleep apnea that caused her to wake up to seven times per hour.
Like any parent, Jasmine wished that they were able to catch Hazel's condition sooner, but thankfully, the surgery brought immediate improvements and a smooth recovery for Hazel.
While celebrating Hazel's improved health, Jasmine and her husband, Brett, expanded their family by welcoming their second daughter, Darla, in September 2024. Born one month early and after a dramatic near-roadside delivery, Darla spent 15 days in the NICU, but is now healthy and enjoying spending time with her older sister.
With so many life-changing events happening in a short span of time, it's clear why Jasmine took a year-long break from Help! I Wrecked My House. Luckily, fans don't have to wait much longer for a brand new season filmed in the family's new home state of Utah. While HGTV hasn't announced an official air date yet, Jasmine teased that it's right around the corner!
