After season 12 of the hit Hallmark series ended back in March, fans are eager to see what else is in store for our favorite citizens. And judging from the last episode, there's definitely a lot to unpack!
As Elizabeth Thornton (Erin Krakow) embarked on a new romance with Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry), she also dealt with her son Little Jack (Hyland Goodrich)'s diabetes diagnosis. With the family experiencing Jack going through insulin trials, Elizabeth realizes she may not be able to take care of him the way he needs to be monitored. This leads them to leave Hope Valley for Cape Fullerton, with better medical care and a major cliffhanger on where Elizabeth's future lies. And this is all before we get to see mysteries being solved in Hope Valley, and new romances potentially blossoming.
Given the popularity of When Calls the Heart, it's clear why Hallmark would choose to renew it for another season.
Is there a season 13 of When Calls the Heart?
You bet there is!
Erin was the one to break the news that When Calls the Heart was renewed back in March 2025, thanks to an Instagram she posted at the time. The clip not only expressed her excitement, but the announcement came just ahead of the season 12 finale airing on Hallmark.
"Psst — I got news," she stated in the clip. "When Calls the Heart is returning for season 13, and we are SO EXCITED! We can't wait to get back to Hope Valley to tell more of the stories you love! We'll see you on Hallmark."
If that wasn't enough for fans to get excited about, the When Calls the Heart cast also had thoughts about the show coming back for season 13 in 2026.
"13 Going on 30! 🎉👏🏻🌟," Kayla Wallace (who recurs as Fiona Miller) wrote in the comments. "A baker’s dozen!!!!!!" Pascale Hutton (who portrays Rosemary Coulter) exclaimed. "Wait what?" Kavan Smith (who stars as Lee Coulter) added.

Has When Calls the Heart season 13 begun filming?
To the surprise of fans on social media, When Calls the Heart revealed that production is officially underway for season 13!
After weeks of teasing that a new season was in store, the show's social team officially kicked off the beginning of filming on July 1. Posting a behind-the-scenes Instagram video of the pond in front of the Jack Thornton schoolhouse and church, fans were all ready to see what's in store for our favorite group of frontier people.
"Season Thirteen!" the caption overlaid on the clip. "Who's ready?"
Upon seeing this piece of information about WCTH, folks were thrilled the show was officially shooting new episodes.
"I’m so excited for season 13 😊😊 and hopefully many more seasons too 😊😊💛💛," one person wrote in the comments. "Can’t believe it’s here!! Happy tears!" another exclaimed. "We CANNOT wait!!!!!" a different follower added.
