We hate bad news as much as the next person, but we feel the need to keep HGTV fans updated on the network's latest developments.

After four seasons of revitalizing Detroit homes, Bargain Block appears to be coming to an end. The hit HGTV renovation series, which premiered in 2021, followed creative duo Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas as they purchased run-down homes in Detroit and transformed them into stylish living spaces. With the help of realtor Shea Hicks-Whitfield, fans fell in love with the team because of their passion, vision, and commitment to revitalizing communities.

While HGTV has yet to officially confirm the show's cancellation, Keith took to Instagram to share an emotional update that strongly suggests the end of the series. "The last six months have been a pretty wild journey," he began. "Our entire business and lives have been put through the ringer at the hands of a giant corporation, yet we persist lol."

Keith went on to acknowledge the uncertainty that comes with working in television, adding, "Though you may not be seeing us for much longer on HGTV, we're excited that we've built such an amazing base of followers and we're very excited about the future."

Known for their down-to-earth personalities and unique designs, Keith and Evan plan to continue doing what they love most—creating beautiful homes and working closely with clients. The show also spawned a short-lived New Orleans-based spinoff so their influence now goes beyond the Motor City.

To no one's surprise, fans of the show are taking the news hard. Social media has been flooded with messages of support and disappointment. "HUGE mistake on the part of HGTV! You guys are quite simply THE best show they had going for them! I’m looking forward to bigger and better things from the two of you," wrote one viewer. "Your fans will follow wherever you end up. Bargain Block is the best show 🥰👏🏻❤️" and "Bargain Block stole my heart from day one—your miraculous makeovers are pure magic! Wherever you go, I’m right there with you. Claim your crown, it’s yours!🎉" wrote others.

Even fellow HGTV star Ty Pennington took the time to leave a comment saying, "Feel you on this! It’s not fun constantly worrying and wondering if it’s all gonna be over, if this is the year they don’t renew your show. Been in this rat race for 25 years and it doesn’t get easier! One thing I know for sure is you guys are damn talented and I can’t wait to see what you do next 🙌🔥"

This isn't the last we'll see of Bargain Block—Keith explained in his Instagram story that a few episodes remain: "We do have a few more episodes coming out in August, actually starting on Evan’s birthday. But they are the remainder of Season 4 ’cause they did not renew the show for Season 5."

Though no official statement has been released by HGTV, for now, it seems the chapter is closing on Bargain Block and we'll certainly miss seeing the team on our screens.
