- 40 year old singer Chuck Adams is the latest contestant auditioning for America's Got Talent season 20.
- Chuck performed "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls as his audition to make it on the show.
- Judge Sofía Vergara told Chuck he "can go very far" on AGT after his audition.
We're only five episodes into America's Got Talent season 20, and Sofía Vergara already has thoughts about one act's future on the show.
The NBC series is in the middle of airing the auditions portion of the competition, and the talent coming through has everyone on the edge of their seats. 40 year old singer Chuck Adams was one of those vying for a spot on the June 24 episode, as he appeared on stage and hoped to win Sofía, Simon Cowell, Mel B and Howie Mandel's approval to move to the next round. As he sang a rousing rendition of "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls, audiences in studio and at home couldn't help but feel all the emotion he put into the performance. As a result, everyone gave Chuck a standing ovation — and Sofía seemingly predicted something major about his time on AGT.
"I feel like you can go very far in this competition," she told Chuck in a clip posted on YouTube.
Just like Sofía, many couldn't help but agree Chuck could go far on AGT this season.
"My favorite audition this season. He is not just a singer, he is an ARTIST!" one person wrote in the comments. "This is the best rendition of 'Iris' I’ve ever heard," another agreed. "Amazing rendition to a classic. Hope he goes far in the show," a different follower added.
Well, we certainly think Chuck has an incredible career ahead of him after hearing him for the first time! Now, does this mean Chuck made it through to the next round? Absolutely, as all four judges decided to vote yes for him, giving him the chance to continue on for AGT season 20.
Now, we just have to tune in and see what other musical covers Chuck decides to sing for us later on in the competition!
