As season 20 of the NBC series continues airing new episodes every Tuesday night, longtime watchers are eagerly waiting to see which act is going to win it all at the end of the summer. But while we sit back and watch the competition unfold, it turns out AGT dropped a surprise bombshell about its future on TV.
As viewers learned from AGT's official audition Instagram on May 27, it looks like America's Got Talent is renewed for season 21 in 2026 on NBC. But that's not all. The series is already looking for the latest talent to showcase for next season โ and they're doing it via virtual auditions for both the East and West Coasts.
"Get ready, East Coast and West Coast! ๐," the caption read alongside the image. "Think youโve got what it takes to be on @agt Season 21? Virtual auditions are coming up: East Coast โ Friday, July 11th. West Coast โ Friday, August 1st. All the info and registration at AGTauditions.com. Show us which coast has the most talent!"
As soon as fans learned about this shocking update from AGT, they immediately bombarded the comments about auditioning for season 21.
"Just signed up! ๐ฅ," one person wrote in the comments. "Sent mine in already. Send the call back ๐," another begged. "Awesome ๐," a different follower added.
Well, this is certainly a surprise AGT fans weren't expecting to come so quickly! But given the show's incredible success over the last two decades (it first premiered on NBC back in June 2006), it makes sense why people would want to take part in something so iconic.
Huh โ maybe this is a sign for us to take a stab at being part of the competition?
