When it comes to giving out the coveted Golden Buzzer on America's Got Talent, timing is everything.

As season 20 of the NBC series continues to air new episodes, folks are continually drawn in by the incredible talent taking the stage. The June 17 episode was no different, as viewers met dance troupe the Funkateer Dancers, who auditioned for a chance to be in the competition.

Performing for judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara and Mel B, the lifelong friends wowed the crowd with an incredible dance routine to Rick James' "Give It to Me Baby." With the audience and judges giving the Funkateer Dancers a standing ovation, Simon seemed like he was ready to give the group his Golden Buzzer, But in a surprise twist of events, AGT host Terry Crews managed to swoop in and give the troupe his seal of approval first.

"OK, I think, uh--," Simon began in the YouTube clip, before Terry interrupted and took over the mic.

"Hey! You are my Golden Buzzer!" Terry exclaimed as he pushed the button. "I got you!"

As the Funkateer Dancers (and the entire room) erupted in cheers and excitement, Simon was left absolutely speechless by Terry's bold move. As a result, he had to call out Terry for taking his moment.

"That was supposed to be mine!" Simon shouted to Terry. "I was going to do it!"

After witnessing Simon and Terry's hilarious interaction, it was clear AGT viewers were into the two's dynamic as much as they were into the Funkateer Dancers.

"These gentlemen deserved this. Hilarious that Simon nearly fought for the buzzer πŸ˜‚," one person wrote in the comments. "I have never seen Simon so animated towards an act before .... literally he could not get up on the stage quick enough πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘," another noted. "I love that Simon went up there as if it was his golden buzzer. They must have been so nice when he talked to them before he wanted to talk to them again," a different follower added.

Needless to say, we're definitely ready to see more from the Funkateer Dancers when they appear next on the AGT live shows!
