Virgin River fans know the show is coming back for season 7 on Netflix. But did Alexandra Breckenridge (who plays Melinda "Mel" Sheridan) drop a major clue no one clocked about it?
It's been six months since fans ventured back to Northern California with the premiere of Virgin River season 6. What's more, Netflix confirmed season 7 is officially in the works, with filming already in production for the upcoming installment.
Even though nuggets of information have been dropped over the last little while, viewers are still anxious to know when they can expect to see new episodes air on the streamer. Well, Alexandra teased that Virgin River season 7 may just be premiering sooner than people think. Thanks to a selfie posted on her Instagram story on June 5, the actress seemingly inferred the new season is airing sometime in 2025.
"Virgin River season 7 2025?" she cryptically wrote in a poll over the photo. "Yes. No."
As far as when fans can expect Virgin River season 7 to air on the streamer, Alexandra gave further insight into this subject when she posted videos about it on her Instagram story.
"I feel like I’m on day 857 of filming Season 7," she stated in the clip, via TV Line. "We’re almost done, can you believe it? I can’t even believe it. Almost to the finish line. I keep wondering if they’re going to put the show out this year. What do you guys think? Probably, right? If they have it, they’ll probably drop it … this year, 2025. I don’t know any information. I’m the last to know."
While it's unclear if Alexandra actually knows something that viewers don't, this is certainly intriguing information to consider! And given how Virgin River announced back in March that the show is adding two new residents (played by Sara Canning and Cody Kearsley) for season 7, we're definitely interested to see when the new episodes will air on Netflix. And as Alexandra told Good Housekeeping back in December 2024, there is definitely an important element she's excited to explore this season.
"I think season 7 is going to really focus on the idea of family," she explained at the time. "I'm so looking forward to that. I think what draws people into Virgin River as a show, besides the beautiful scenery and all of the romance, is this community and the connection we see the characters having."
