Even though Hoda Kotb isn't on the Today show anymore, it doesn't mean her presence can't be felt by her co-star Jenna Bush Hager!

As Jenna's fourth hour segment Today With Jenna and Friends reaches six months of being on the air, fans of the NBC series continue to wonder who will permanently take over the spot Hoda held before her January 2025 exit. Well, Jenna gave some insight about this to People at the Read With Jenna Book Festival in late May, where she revealed the process of finding a new co-host is taking more time than expected.

"We're still searching," she told the outlet. "We definitely want somebody permanent at some point just because that's our show, and I think the Today show is such a family. So to have somebody sit in that seat means a lot to all of us ... I think we've all just been kind of living day by day and we don't have any developments yet, but we will."

While it looks like we'll have to wait a little longer for the big announcement, viewers will still get to see Jenna interact with famous faces as guest co-hosts every weekday. And as some know, Hoda had the chance to make a comeback as a co-host for the May 28 taping to promote her new wellness app, Joy 101!

So, how did Jenna feel about reuniting with Hoda on Today With Jenna and Friends? As she also noted, it felt like nothing had changed between the two of them when Hoda joined her on the air again.

"It was so nice," she added. "Even if time goes by, there's a connection that is undeniable, and I felt that way being with her. I just felt like my nervous system kind of relaxed and it was so nice to be with her," she continued. "There could have been no better reunion. It felt really great."

Here's hoping we'll see Hoda back on the Today show again ... and we can't wait to see who will become the next fourth hour host!
