Ginny & Georgia is officially back for season 3, and we're ready to get back in step with the folks in Wellsbury!

The Netflix series has been a hit among fans since it first premiered in 2021, and viewers adore the complicated intertwining stories of mother-daughter duo Ginny (Antonia Gentry) and Georgia Miller (Brianne Howey). But outside of the two's continual family drama, fans love to see how their pasts catch up to them in their current hometown of Wellsbury, Massachusetts. And let's be honest — with the town's picturesque views, quaint little shops (including the café Ginny works at) and plenty more, we sure would love to move there and make a home for ourselves.

With the show's season 3 airing on June 5, 2025 on Netflix, fans likely want to know if they can actually visit Wellsbury for themselves. If, like us, you're curious about where Ginny & Georgia is filmed, you'll want to keep reading for all the answers.

Is Wellsbury a real place?

Much to the chagrin of longtime fans of Ginny & Georgia, the town of Wellsbury, Massachusetts isn't a real place. But as Decider noted in February 2021, the name of the fictional setting likely came from two real cities located in the U.S. state: Wellesley and West Newbury.

Now, as far as where Ginny & Georgia actually films .... you'll need to pull out your passport for this one.

Where is Ginny & Georgia filmed?

As it turns out, Ginny & Georgia isn't filmed in the state or even the country where the series is set. Instead, the drama travels up north to Toronto, Canada to shoot new episodes.

Per multiple reports, the show actually films in a few different places in Toronto. According to IMDB, the interior scenes for Ginny & Georgia are filmed within the sound stages in Toronto's TriBoro Studios. And when it comes to the shots that have the characters outside, the show ventures over 50 miles outside of Toronto to the picturesque town of Cobourg, Ontario.

So, what makes Cobourg the perfect location to film Ginny & Georgia? According to the suburb's official website, Cobourg is described as "one of Ontario's hidden gems" that is a "perfect escape from the everyday" life. What's more, the town is right along the shore of Lake Ontario with a mix of local dining, eclectic art galleries and shopping you can only find in beachside areas.

Are there other projects filmed on the Ginny & Georgia set?

You bet!

IMDB reports a number of different projects have actually filmed in Cobourg. If the set looks somewhat familiar to you, it's because it could be seen in movies like 2015's Pixels and 2022's Luckiest Girl Alive. And if that's not enough, local publication Kawartha Now writes an upcoming Amazon Prime biopic series about boxing legend Muhammad Ali was being filmed in the area in April 2025.

The more you know!
