Can you believe we're in the ninth season of Home Town? Yeah, neither can we, and we certainly can't complain. Ben and Erin Napier somehow always manage to make their projects more impressive than the last and the latest episode did not disappoint. But, that didn't stop HGTV fans from having a lot to say when the couple posted a sneak peek of the episode to Instagram.
Erin and Ben took to social media writing, "TONIGHT on Home Town, you’ll get a tree house, Tupelo artist @amyelizabethcrabb visits me, and wallpaper gets a nice laundry room moment. This is for the lovers of traditional style, blue and white, and a little bit of pattern."
In the show's latest episode the Home Town couple takes on a huge project—moving their friends' family from a Laurel, Mississippi suburb to the countryside where they'll have ample outdoor space and a treehouse for the kids. With the homeowners' request to incorporate wallpapers and textures into the new house, it seems from their reaction in the video that the renovation was yet another home run for the Napiers.
"I am so excited to watch. I’ve wanted a tree house my entire life ❤️🥹," wrote one person in the comments. "My favorite Sunday night show 👏👏🔥❤️," said another. But, fans also commented on a familiar face they haven't seen on the show for a while. "Was that Mike the floor guy in tonight's show???," a fan wrote.
Among the many home experts the Napiers have featured on Home Town, Mike Husers, also known as "Mike the Floor Guy," has been a fan favorite and noticeably absent from the show following the season 6 premiere. After hearing fans' concerns, Erin took to twitter to explain why Mike was missing, writing, "He's on leave of absence caring for a family member with a long term illness."
Fast forward to the season's new episode and fans are speculating about his return to the show. While we personally didn't spot him in the new episode, there's a good chance fans are getting him mixed up with David, the other floor guy. He's been a longtime expert on the show and has certainly put up with many of the Napiers' demands. "Is David going to quit today? Is today the day?," Ben says in the Instagram video. "I heard you're mad at me," Erin confesses to him.
Fans quickly flooded the comments scared to see David leave. "Hoping Mr. David doesn't stop working with you all. He is truly a treasure," said one person. "I always feel like Mr. David stays on the cusp of fed up with Erin 😂" and "You do like to test Mr. David. 🤭," joked others.
Needless to say, we hope David doesn't go anywhere soon. After seeing his work in the latest Home Town episode, his contributions are a major piece of the home renovation puzzle.
