Jelly Roll served as one of the headliners at Stagecoach, a massive annual country music festival in Indio, California. His performance was packed with special appearances, from Shaboozey to mgk to Jessie Murph. But he mixed things up for one of his most powerful songs, "Save Me."
The American Idol artist in residence recorded a remix of the song in 2023 with Lainey Wilson, and the two received a Grammy nomination for the rendition. Some fans at Stagecoach were expecting Lainey to take the stage for a surprise appearance, but, instead, Jelly Roll brought out Lana Del Rey to sing Lainey's part. Lana had taken the stage as the night one headliner at the festival, so it makes sense that she was in attendance.
Stagecoach shared a clip of the performance on their official Instagram account, and while many fans praised Lana's performance, many were disappointed that Lainey wasn't there. They left messages like "Where was Lainey!!!!" and "jelly roll is a fantastic performer. Next year bring out Lainey for sure. She deserves a headlining spot."
Everyone could agree on one thing: Jelly Roll's set was incredible. One fan wrote, "He seriously was so amazing! You guys did well choosing him as a headliner. Truly a great performer! ❤️🔥" Another left these words of praise: "It was the best concert I’ve ever seen in my life! I danced and sang my heart out to every song and every artist! Love that he brought so many guests! A rising tide lifts all boats! Sharing your incredible moment with others and everyone wins! 💕"
Our only complaint about the performance is we weren't there to see it in person!
