Prince William and Kate Middleton skipped the royal family's annual Easter celebration at St. George’s Chapel this year, instead opting to spend time with their kids. And apparently the palace is taking it personally.

“This is a big deal,” a source tells Us Weekly. “It’s royal tradition for the family to attend this together. Everyone understood the family not attending last year when Kate was sick but there’s been a lot of raised eyebrows at the palace about William’s decision to skip again this year. It feels like a deliberate move and even a snub.”

Turns out the couple spent Easter weekend in Norfolk, with a source telling The Sun that “They are choosing to spend time together as a family before the children go back to school.”

Doesn't exactly sound like a snub, but either way, this comes amid reports that Wills and Kate have been trying to spend more quality time together. As another source recently told The Sun, "William has been incredibly supportive through Kate’s cancer battle—he’s really proven himself to be a remarkable partner when the going gets tough. His big focus has been on making the most of their time and this second chance at life together. That means more romantic dinners, more long walks and more holidays. They’re mapping out summer plans right now, with the usual family trips to Cornwall and the Isle of Scilly, but they’re also looking to take a romantic hideaway holiday just the two of them, and even talking about going back to the Seychelles where they honeymooned.”
