Tarek El Moussa was met with an outpouring of support from fans over the weekend after he responded to criticism about his new show being "toxic." The stern message came from a follower upset that El Moussa filmed The Flip Off with both his wife and ex-wife.
"You shouldn't have filmed a tv show with your wife & ex-wife it's really toxic and weird," read the comment, which El Moussa shared in an Instagram video.
In his response to the message, El Moussa fired back with few words, simply writing: "God forbid a man tries to start a family business."
Despite his retort being brief, the TV personality/real estate investor's Instagram post was swiftly flooded with positive messages from fans.
"I love your shows! Please don’t listen to the haters. You do you," read one comment.
"You guys have come so far, you’re teaching those kids and everybody who’s watching how it’s done!! 💕 Kindness & Forgiveness!!" another user chimed in.
There was even one person who compared the dynamic between the three to that of another famous family.
"I’m friends with my ex-husband. We have 2 adult kids together and I watch his younger kids and love them too. We were FRIENDS first...I don’t get why people thing because relationships don’t work out that it should be toxic 🤣 look at Demi Moore & Bruce Willis," they wrote.
For those unfamiliar with The Flip Off, the HGTV show is a six-episode, competition-style series that pit El Moussa and his wife Heather Rae El Moussa against his ex Christina Haack. The series premiered in January of this year, and despite positive feedback from fans, it has yet to be renewed for a second season.
