As a mom of two children, fans may think Kelly Clarkson has some advantages with parenting in the spotlight. Well, it turns out she has a bone to pick with the school system — and it's one other parents can relate to.

The Kelly Clarkson Show host appeared on Kylie Kelce's Not Gonna Lie podcast on March 27, and the two discussed raising kids in the public eye (Kylie shares daughters Wyatt, Elliotte and Bennett and is expecting a fourth with husband Jason Kelce; Kelly shares daughter River Rose and son Remington "Remy" Alexander with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock). Ahead of the episode dropping online, Kelly filmed a preview for the podcast that was shared the day before on Instagram. Following Kylie's tradition of voicing her opinions beginning with "Not gonna lie ... ," Kelly aired out some dirty laundry about the parenting ick she didn't expect to have.

"I'm not gonna lie, I don't know when the school systems thought it would be a good plan for families and their emotional stability to start having performances at 10 a.m. during the week," she stated in the clip. "This just in: a lot of us work. And surprising you with it — like not giving you an advance, so you can at least tell your work, 'Hey, I'm gonna need this morning off to come in.' A lot of jobs wouldn't let you do that, anyway."

That's not all Kelly stated about this parenting issue. She elaborated that while she may technically be in charge of her own schedule as the host of a talk show, her kids don't always understand she needs to put work first.

"Even if you're the boss, and you would have that control, our kids don't understand and we just look like a******* when we're not there," she added. "Then they go, 'Why was this mom there?' And then you have to say, 'because that kid got a better mom.'"

When fans heard Kelly's take on this parenting pet peeve, many agreed with her, nothing they've experienced similar situations with their own school-age children.

"From one working mom to another … PREACH!!!" one person wrote in the comments. "THIS!!! 👏 My kid got honor roll. We were notified of the assembly the NIGHT before 🫠," another lamented. "Agreed Kelly! Parents need notice to rearrange schedules. Let's help parents support their kids!" a different follower added.

Well, what do you think about this? And what are some of your own parenting hot takes?
