America's Got Talent is gearing up to premiere season 20 β but the judges' panel is looking a little different this go-around.
The hit NBC series will be back on the air starting on May 27, 2025, and fans can't wait to see the hopefuls vying for a $1 million prize. What's more, they are eager to see judges Simon Cowell, SofΓa Vergara and Howie Mandel welcome back Melanie "Mel B" Brown back to the group after taking time off from AGT since 2018.
Well, folks got to see the quartet back together, thanks to a first look photo posted on AGT's Instagram on March 18. As Simon, SofΓa, Howie and Mel B posted onstage alongside host Terry Crews, the show had to tease when fans can see the judges in action on their TV screens.
"The stars are out! π€©," the official caption read. "#AGT Season 20 premieres may 27 on @nbc and streaming on @peacock."
Upon learning the news of Mel B coming back to the show, AGT fans couldn't hold back their elation.
"M to the E L B! Scary is back! ππ€πΆ," one person exclaimed. "Yessss! Will start watching again because Mel B is back!" another penned. "π Love @officialmelb π₯π great to see you right there π," a different viewer added.
Even though AGT fans were excited to see what the judges will be able to do on season 20, some were heartbroken about one person missing from the panel this season. Viewers expressed disappointment over not seeing Heidi Klum join the group as a judge this time around.
"No Heidi?? I love all of them, but ... ," one person wrote in the comments. "Gonna miss Heidi π’," another declared. "Heidi will be missed π’ Maybe in 2026?" a different follower inquired.
While it's disappointing to know that Heidi is leaving AGT in 2025, there is a potentially good reason behind her departure. She announced her return to Project Runway as a host for the show's season 21 back in January, after making a name for herself as both a host and judge for the first 16 seasons. Given how there's no premiere date set for when Project Runway will come back to television, it's likely the show is filming at the same time as AGT and made her work schedule a bit difficult to do both.
No matter the case, we can't wait to see what's in store this season!
