Home Town Takeover is back, and while Ben and Erin Napier are busy pitching in to help the town of Sebring, Florida, regain its luster, we couldn't help but notice a bit of romance in the air thanks to the town's soda shop.
The Napiers ventured away from their hometown of Laurel, Mississippi, to help revitalize Sebring on season 3 of the HGTV series. (In season 1, they worked to revitalize Wetumpka, Alabama, and season 2 had them tackling updates in Fort Morgan, Colorado.)
In the first episode, Ben explains, "We've got four months to change a small town," and Erin said, "We're going to make it alive in places it hasn't been alive in a long time. This is going to be our biggest challenge ever."
Ben and Erin focused their attention on Sebring Soda, the soda shop situated in the town's circle. The owners Daniel and Liz bought the shop in hopes of giving the downtown a boost, but it's proved challenging, despite their best efforts.
During the renovation process, the Napiers shared their love of sodas, and revealed that the nostalgic beverage even played a part in the early days of their love story. Erin explained, "The night that we went on our first date, we stopped at a gas station and he got a peach soda, our favorite, and we shared it. We were headed back to the dorm, he was going to drop me off, and he said, 'Would it be alright with you if I gave you a kiss?' That was our first kiss. It tasted like peach soda."
Ben and Erin later explained that they hope couples have romantic dates at Sebring Soda for years to come. It doesn't get more romantic than that!
New episodes of Home Town Takeover air on HGTV on Sunday nights at 8 p.m. EST/7 p.m. CST and stream on Max.
