In the biggest twist of events, Criminal Minds fans just got word about the future of the show's hit spinoff.

Criminal Minds: Evolution has been airing on Paramount+ since November 2022, and fans continue to get invested in the cases — and lives — of the members of the BAU. Well, it looks like we don't have to wait too long for the FBI unit's next case, as the show went on Instagram to share that Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3 (season 18 overall) will premiere on Thursday, May 7, 2025 on Paramount+. And if that wasn't enough, viewers got major news that reveals even more about what's next.

In addition to a Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3 premiere date, we're about to get a lot more episodes. The show officially got renewed for season 4 (season 19 overall) ahead of the next installment airing on television.

"What’s in the box, Profilers?!" read the official caption alongside a photo of the BAU staring at an ominous cardboard container. "➡️ Unveiling your first look at the new season of #CriminalMinds: Evolution, premiering May 8 on @paramountplus! ➡️ Plus, exciting news: we’ll be back for another season!"

Naturally, seeing this incredible news about the next phase of Criminal Minds: Evolution had fans screaming online.

"FINALLY! AND YOU ALSO GOT RENEWED FOR SEASON 19! SO HAPPY!" one person screamed in the comments. "Never clicked a notification so fast 😍," another agreed. "Family is coming back to us! 🙌🏽❤️😁," a different follower added.

Well, it looks like we need to go and mark our calendars! And while we'll have to wait for more details on the new season, Variety did share an official logline of what fans can expect.

Per the outlet, Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3 will pick up six months after the season 2 finale. This time around, "prisoners attack the notorious Sicarius Killer, Elias Voit" (Zach Gilford), as his followers on the dark web begin causing mayhem country-wide. In order for the BAU to stop the group from hurting more people, they have to work with Voit himself — who may have his own motive amid all the chaos.
