The 63-year-old actress made waves earlier this year with a surprising reunion with her When Harry Met Sally costar Billy Crystal that ended up being a high-profile Super Bowl commercial for Hellmann's.
Now, she's traded the diner for the red carpet for an unexpected appearance at the Oscars.
She walked the red carpet solo in a strapless gown that at first glance appeared to be black, but upon closer examination seems to be burgundy velvet. She wore her hair in loose waves and kept her jewelry simple, except for a statement-making diamond bracelet.
Last year, Meg did not attend the ceremony but joined the Vanity Fair afterparty.
Longtime fans of the actress will remember her 1998 appearance with then-husband Dennis Quaid in a simple black dress and statement sunglasses.
Meg isn't scheduled to present during the ceremony, and it's unclear if Meg has a role, but we're thrilled to see her back on the red carpet.
