Carrie Underwood doesn't seem to have any downtime, but the busy mom of two took a break from preparing for her Las Vegas residency and filming the new season of American Idol to share some of the work she's doing at home in the kitchen.
Fans of the "Before He Cheats" singer knows that Carrie and her family live on a farm with a slew of animals and a thriving garden. Plus, she's been known to share her talents in the kitchen, whether she's baking sourdough or canning garlic. When Tennessee had snowy weather recently, she spent the day cooking and canning up a storm, and shared the photos with her followers on Instagram.
Carrie wrote, "Spent the snow days preserving…made some VeniMoose stew from some odds and ends meat we had in the freezer…also freeze dried grapes, strawberries, bananas as well as orange segments and orange zest. Now I won’t have to go buy oranges when some recipe calls for orange zest! The freeze dried fruit makes for great school snacks! #PressureCanning #FreezeDrying #Preserving #HarvestRight."
Carrie's carousel of photos got almost 1,500 comments from fans discussing her recent activities. Many wanted to know her tips and recipes:
- "When you're tired of touring, please have a TV show to teach this stuff. Please."
- "You need to publish a book with all your canning secrets!"
- "We need an update on your greenhouse. How’s it going?"
- "Love your many talents!!! ❤️ 👏👏👏👏"
Still, not everyone was pleased with the canning photos. One fan wrote, "girl if you don’t put the fruit down and get back back in that studio 😩" No word on when new music will be on the way, but we know we'll be seeing much more of Carrie when American Idol premieres on March 9.
