Harrison Ford has already made several red carpet appearances in 2025, but the 82-year-old actor has been forced to step down from attending the Oscars due to illness.
After attending the Golden Globes with his daughter, making waves at the 1923 season 2 premiere and stealing the show at the SAG Awards, Harrison has been diagnosed with shingles and has been replaced as a presenter during the 97th annual Academy Awards.
The acclaimed actor has not won an Oscar himself. He has one nomination during his decades-long career for his role in the 1986 film Witness. While he has talked of retiring soon, fans can rest assured that they'll see plenty more of Harrison in the near future. He's currently starring as Jacob Dutton on 1923 and as President Thaddeus Ross (aka Red Hulk) in Captain America: Brave New World. Plus, he is expected to reprise his role in Shrinking when it returns for its third season.
Even in Harrison's absence, Oscars viewers are in for a star-studded night. Conan O'Brien is slated to host, and Wicked Stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are expected to perform. Plus, the list of presenters includes Samuel L. Jackson, Halle Berry, Sterling K. Brown, Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Ana de Armas, Robert Downey Jr., Elle Fanning, Whoopi Goldberg, Selena Gomez, Goldie Hawn, Scarlett Johansson, John Lithgow, Cillian Murphy, Connie Nielsen, Amy Poehler, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, June Squibb, Ben Stiller, Emma Stone, Oprah Winfrey, and Bowen Yang.
Hopefully, Harrison recovers quickly and is back on the red carpet soon.
