Robin Roberts may be a serious news reporter on Good Morning America. But behind the scenes, she's ready to get down and boogie!
On February 19, GMA's social team went on Instagram to give folks a behind-the-scenes look at the co-hosts when not on the air. As they captured Robin, Michael Strahan, Stephanie Ramos and others heading to set, the team went to work by asking them what their go-to karaoke songs were. In typical Robin fashion, she shouted out Whitney Houston's hit track "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)" — and she got the whole crew involved in a hilarious bit before breaking out in her own rendition for the cameras.
"I wanna dance with somebody!" she exclaimed in the clip. "I wanna feel the HEAT with somebody! ... They're such terrible background singers," she joked.
But as it turns out, Robin wasn't the only one jamming out to Whitney Houston. When Stephanie shared her favorite karaoke tune is the late singer's song "Greatest Love of All," it induced a heartfelt singing moment between Stephanie, Robin and Michael — flashlights from their iPhones included.
Upon seeing Robin belt her own version of the classic Whitney song on social media, fans immediately had to back her up for getting groovy before appearing on national television.
"This is why I love this GMA family. Y'all are so FABULOUS!!!!!!! No problems in bringing it," one person declared in the comments. "This!!! Is why I love love the GMA team. So much fun to watch," another agreed. "This is how one is supposed to feel at work! ❤️🔥," a different follower added.
Now, this is how we should all be starting our days. And while Robin hasn't showed off her singing skills before, she does love to deliver inspirational messages on Instagram every morning from her dressing room.
So, is there a way we can get Robin to sing for us on a regular basis?
