Not to be the bearer of bad news, but we may not be seeing a lot of legendary actor Harrison Ford for much longer. Recently, the Indiana Jones actor sat down for an interview with The Wall Street Journal in which he made a statement that shocked fans.
"You've had an extensive career. What's next for Harrison Ford?," asked the interviewer. "To stop working," Ford quickly answered. "But I want to finish what I'm doing," he continued.
*Record scratch* Yep, that's right. Retirement for the actor may be right around the corner and while it's not the best news for us movie lovers, it's well deserved. Can you believe that Ford made his film debut in 1966? Fast forward to 2025, and the 82-year-old actor is still giving fans incredible performances, including his latest project, Captain America: Brave New World.
You may know him as Han Solo from Star Wars or Jacob Dutton in the Yellowstone spinoff series 1923. Either way, with over six decades of film and television success under his belt, his taking a step back from acting seems like a natural next step and fans sounded off in the comments praising his accomplishments. "If Harrison Ford decided to retire from acting, he would leave behind a legacy of iconic roles in some of the most beloved film franchises of all time," wrote one person. "Really gonna miss him when he retires. He's been my hero since I was a few years old," said another.
In the interview, Ford went on to explain that he'd like to spend more time flying—a long-time hobby of his despite several dangerous aviation incidents. "I'd like to spend more time with my family at home. I have things in my life outside of movies," he stated.
Whether he decides to retire tomorrow or retire in a few years, Harrison Ford will always be one of the top actors of all time.
