Martha Stewart is officially coming back to TV — and it's in a way that fans might not expect.
On February 13, Variety revealed major news about the next stage in the lifestyle expert's long career on television. In a twist that no one saw coming, folks learned Martha would be joining up with acclaimed chef José Andrés to executive produce and host Yes Chef!, a brand-new cooking competition show for NBC. But that's not all — the outlet also revealed that it won't be long before viewers will get to see what the new series is all about.
According to the publication, Yes Chef! will premiere on Monday, April 28 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC after a new episode of The Voice. And if that wasn't enough, José already went on Instagram to share his excitement about working with Martha on the new project.
"Big news, people!! I am so excited to share that I will be co-hosting @nbc’s newest cooking competition show, 'Yes, Chef!' with the only and the one @marthastewart48 by my side!" he wrote alongside a screenshot of the Variety article. "We’ll be guiding 12 highly skilled chefs to reach their full potential, with some tough love and a lot of humor! Premiering on Monday, April 28 at 10PM ET/PT on NBC—I can’t wait for you to watch!!"
When fans learned that Martha would be making her way back to the small screen, they couldn't hold back their excitement about it.
"Love it❣️❣️," one person wrote in the comments. "Exciting times!! Can’t wait! 🙌🙌," another agreed. "I will be watching 👏👏👏," a different viewer added.
So, what is Yes Chef! all about? According to a report from Deadline, the show will see 12 highly trained food professionals (who have been nominated by loved ones, co-workers or their bosses) as they go through what the show calls "the ultimate test." With Martha and José guiding them, each week will see the chefs embark on challenges that will test their culinary skills and their ability to handle tough scenarios. By the end of the competition, whoever impresses with their food, work ethic and overall improvement throughout the course of the show will win a $250,000 grand prize.
OK, we definitely need to tune in and see what this is all about!
