Jenna Bush Hager is finally confronting Amy Poehler about something that occurred decades ago — but it's not what people may expect.

Back in the early 2000s, Amy starred on Saturday Night Live around the time Jenna's dad, George W. Bush, was the President of the United States. What's more, Amy impersonated Jenna alongside Tina Fey (who played Jenna's sister Barbara) in a sketch that aired on the show in 2005. Well, how did Jenna feel about seeing a version of herself on TV? She actually got to talk to Amy about this in a way that certainly surprised the woman who played her.

While Amy guest hosted the February 10 episode of Today's fourth hour show, Today With Jenna and Friends, Jenna brought up the fact that Amy once tried to step into her shoes on SNL. As it turned out, Jenna had thoughts about the entire situation — and she decided to state her feelings about it on the air.

"One thing that I remembered about your lustrous career, is that you actually played me once," Jenna stated in a clip posted on Instagram. "Is it weird to watch that with me here?"

"Oh my god — I'm totally sweating," Amy nervously replied.

While the two eventually watched the famous SNL clip in real-time, they couldn't stop cracking up about it. After it ended, Amy profusely thanked Jenna for being gracious about being impersonated. "It's not always easy to sit next to the person that you impersonated," Amy admitted.

But Jenna ended up surprising the Parks and Recreation alum by revealing that her impersonation wasn't too far off from the person she was at the time.

"I will say, by that point in my life, I was a teacher in Washington, D.C.," Jenna added. "Y'all may be thinking, 'Oh, she's making fun of college Jenna.' But by then, I actually graduated, I walked across the stage, and I was a teacher of third graders. But you still got a lot right!"

Upon seeing Jenna's reaction to the entire SNL scenario, folks couldn't hold back their thoughts about how easy-going she was about the entire thing.

"This is fantastic. This is the way it should be! Love the camaraderie and laughs!" one person wrote. "I'm laughing so hard! Jenna is always so easy going about these things. ❤️👏👏," another commented. "The fact that she said ‘you got a lot right’ 😂😂😂😂," a different follower added.

Well, that couldn't have turned out better for Amy! And as for Jenna ... maybe this is a calling for her to make a surprise SNL appearance too?
