When it comes to cooking and hamming it up for TV, leave it to Lisa Ann Walter to bring all the funny.
The actress is currently portraying Melissa Schemmenti on Abbott Elementary, and she went on Good Morning America on January 28 to promote the hit sitcom. Instead of a traditional interview, Lisa chose to demo her famous meatball recipe, with the hosts asking her about the show in between steps.
As Lara Spencer, George Stephanopoulos, Robin Roberts, Rebecca Jarvis and Ginger Zee tried to get her to share her thoughts on Abbott Elementary getting renewed for season 5, Lisa just seemed like all she wanted was to cook and kid around. What's more, GMA's social team caught on and made sure to reference it on social media, too.
"Can we please have Lisa Ann Walter join us for every cooking segment đ," read the caption in a clip posted on TikTok.
Given how Lisa seemingly got all hyped up about cooking (just like Melissa does on Abbott Elementary), her entire GMA moment had fans cracking up online.
"Lisa just playing herself on Abbott," one person wrote. "She literally just wanted to cook and they kept asking about the damn show!" another exclaimed. "This woman is a national treasure," a different follower added.
Well, this is definitely a moment that's quintessentially Lisa! She also revealed how the cast learned about Abbott Elementary's season 5 renewal during the clip, stating co-star and creator Quinta Brunson decided to drop the news while filming an episode.
"We were on set and Quinta was like, 'Oh, by the way, we have season 5,'" Lisa shared on finding out the big TV news. "I'm like, 'You couldn't tell us that?' She said, 'I knew for a month.' My God! Are you Sicilian? She's very close-mouthed!"
Even though we still get to see Lisa on new episodes of Abbott Elementary every Wednesday night, this cooking segment has us wanting to bring this side of her out more often!
