As one of the top shows on television, Fire Country takes pride in telling stories of the fictional first responders saving people from catastrophic wildfires. But amid times of real-life tragedy, they want their viewers to know how to do their part in helping out.

The ongoing wildfires in California began on January 7, and per Forbes, over 30,000 people evacuated the greater Los Angeles area. Cal Fire also shared data on January 23 that showed over 50,000 acres of land were burned, with over 16,000 buildings and homes completely destroyed.

The wildfires have been a trying time for the Los Angeles community — and many organizations are finding ways to help those directly affected. Fire Country's network CBS is also raising awareness around how to donate money for those in need, and they recruited the Fire Country cast to assist in showing their support for wildfire victims. Posting an Instagram PSA featuring Max Thieriot (Bode Leone), Kevin Alejandro (Manny Perez), Diane Farr (Sharon Leone) and Billy Burke (Vince Leone), the network asked fans who are able to join CBS in supporting the American Red Cross as they work to provide essentials to those who need them most..

"Those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires urgently need support," Max stated in the clip uploaded on January 17. "Help the American Red Cross provide meals and shelter."

When fans saw CBS and the cast of Fire Country sharing how to support the L.A. wildfire victims, they immediately applauded them for speaking out.

"Wow I’m really glad you guys spoke up, showed support and solidarity concerning the wildfires in Cali. That’s dope. This speaks volumes ❤️," one person wrote. "Love this show & cast. Support ❤️❤️," another agreed. "The show really came to life 😩😩😩," a different follower added.

We love seeing the Fire Country cast using their platform to bring awareness to a critical cause. CBS' initiative with the American Red Cross had raised almost $650,000 in donations at the time of publication.

It's also important to note the Fire Country cast isn't the only group of celebrities lending a hand amid the L.A. wildfires. 9-1-1 star Jennifer Love Hewitt is also working to raise money, through her partnership with BFFS & Babes to curate a loungewear collection with proceeds being donated to the organization Baby2Baby.
