Ryan Seacrest isn't exactly one to have major stumbles in his work life — but he had a good reason for an unexpected fall on TV!
The media personality is the current host of Wheel of Fortune, where he interacts with the contestants plenty on camera. Well, during the January 21 episode of the hit game show, Ryan found himself in quite a hilarious situation thanks to the excitement that overcame contestant Daniel Thomas. After beating out Dina Carlow and Amaryllis DeJesus to make it to the Bonus Round (with $31,950 and a trip to Alaska in tow), he was given a one-word puzzle in his selected "Living Things" category. With just "G_ _ _ _ES" on the puzzleboard, Ryan wished Daniel good luck before giving him 10 seconds to answer.
Well, in a surprise turn of events, Daniel randomly guessed the word "Guppies" as the answer. Not only was it right, but the American Idol host was clearly surprised by how quickly the contestant got the correct response.
"That's it! You did it," Ryan exclaimed in a clip posted on YouTube.
Not being able to contain his excitement, Daniel rushed over to Ryan to give him a hug. As the two embraced, Ryan lost his footing and stumbled onto the ground in total surprise.
"Oh my gosh — are you OK?" Daniel asked Ryan in concern.
"I'm good!" Ryan assured Daniel as he got back onto his feet."Throw me, tackle me — I'm totally fine with it."
Upon seeing the interaction play out, fans online couldn't help but applaud Ryan for how he handled the entire thing like a pro.
"I want to be the next person to tackle him," one person joked on Instagram. "That was so wholesome! You sure you’re okay, Ryan? 😂," another asked. "I’m so sorry but I was hysterical laughing I had to rewind it. Ryan handed it like a champ," a different follower added.
Now, for those wondering whether this snafu affected Daniel's chances of winning, we're here to tell you all is well. He eventually had $40,000 added to his winnings, earning him a grand total of $71,950.
Well, this is definitely one way to enjoy Wheel of Fortune — and we're glad all is alright with Ryan!
