Tyler Perry's heartfelt message about Kerry Washington has made fans of both stars emotional in the best way.

On December 2, Kerry, who is starring in Tyler's upcoming movie The Six Triple Eight (out December 20 on Netflix), was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame. As part of the ceremony, Tyler made a passionate speech about how proud he is of Kerry's legacy, along with what an honor it is to be her friend. After the ceremony concluded, he shared a clip of his speech on Instagram and penned a sweet caption about her latest career milestone.

"I couldn’t be more proud of this woman," he wrote in the caption. "Congrats @kerrywashington on your long-deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!! You so deserve it. Can’t wait for people to see how incredible you are in the Six Triple Eight."

Shortly after Tyler paid tribute to the Scandal alum, Kerry replied: "Thank you Sir. I adore you. I’m so grateful for your friendship and for your thoughtful and inspiring words today."

Fans were equally moved to see the two's friendship on display and joined in on congratulating Kerry. "This is so dope 👏🔥🙌," one person wrote. "Well deserved she's amazing super incredible congratulations @kerrywashington 💎," another declared. "Two inspirations showing it is ALL possible 🙏🏽❤️ dream BIG," a different follower added.

Tyler and Kerry's friendship dates back to at least 2010 when he directed her in the film For Colored Girls. They later collaborated on the 2013 movie Peeples and, of course, worked together on The Six Triple Eight.

Congrats, Kerry!
