Savannah Guthrie's Halloween costume was a tribute to Legally Blonde
fans everywhere in more ways than one.

The Today show host celebrated Halloween with the daytime series' annual "Halloween on the Plaza" special outside in Rockefeller Plaza. This year's theme was "VHS Rewind," where Savannah and her fellow co-hosts dressed up as characters from iconic movies. As Al Roker, Dylan Dreyer, Hoda Kotb, Jenna Bush Hager and more embraced Beetlejuice, Titanic and other famous films, Savannah decided to dress up as Elle Woods from Legally Blonde. Stepping out in an all-pink ensemble and a blonde wig, she also had one big surprise up her sleeve.

Given how most of the Today hosts had partners with their looks, Savannah managed to recruit Legally Blonde star Luke Wilson to help her model off her costume. Arm-in-arm, the duo sashayed for the cameras, which the show also captured for Instagram.

"A PERFECT DAY 🎀💄," read the official caption on a behind-the-scenes clip on October 31.

Upon seeing Savannah's epic Halloween look, folks couldn't get enough of Luke's surprise cameo.

"Love this! And Luke looks exactly the same. Adorable y’all!! 💖💖💖👻🎃," one person wrote in the comments. "Love that Luke was there! 🙌❤️ Perfection," another declared. "Omg this is amazing ❤️," a different viewer added.

As movie-goers may remember, Luke played Elle Woods' (Reese Witherspoon) love interest in Legally Blonde and its sequel Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde. He portrayed Emmett Richmond, who was a junior partner at the law firm Elle interned at and initially was the only one to take her seriously in her position. The two got engaged at the end of the first film, and they later get married at the end of the second film.

A perfect day, indeed!
