Huh β what exactly is Tyler Perry up to that he's in the mood to tease fans about?
The media mogul's new series Beauty in the Black just hit Netflix on October 24, but it looks like he wants to take folks back to another project that's well-loved. In a cryptic post uploaded on Instagram, Tyler seemingly revealed his plans to work on a third film in his Why Did I Get Married? movie franchise that first debuted in October 2007. What's more, it looked like fans could see it sooner than expected, as the post made it look like he was already working on the script for what he's calling Why Did I Get Married Again?.
"ππ€," read the first of two photos posted on October 20, with the second appearing to show a computer screen with the first draft of the script.
When folks caught on that Tyler was working on another movie β and one from a popular film franchise β it didn't take long for them to bombard him with tons of questions about the project.
"Mr. Perry, DO NOT PLAY WITH MY EMOTIONS LIKE THIS!!!!! π," one person wrote in the comments. "YES!!! THIS IS WHAT WE NEED!!!!" another declared. "TYLER IS BRINGING THE HEATTTTT ππΎππΎ," a different follower added.
As fans may remember, Tyler released Why Did I Get Married? back in 2007, featuring a group of college friends who go away to the mountains for a week-long retreat. The original film starred Janet Jackson and The Rookie star Richard T. Jones among the cast, and it quickly became a box office success. Three years later, Tyler released the sequel Why Did I Get Married Too?, and it also quickly became a smash hit in theaters. If Tyler's leading Instagram is to be believed, then folks who've been begging for a third installment are going to be very happy.
While Tyler hasn't given any more information about Why Did I Get Married Again?, fans can see his creative genius later this year with the release of his upcoming historical drama The Triple Six Eight on December 20 on Netflix.
We'll be sure to keep our eyes peeled should there be any more news on this!
