• Martha Stewart shared her five-minute makeup routine.
  • She achieved a stunning, simple, glowy look with Merit Beauty products.
  • She called it “easier than making a pot of soup.”

Before a day spent on her farm, Martha Stewart doesn’t want to spend forever getting ready—there’s too much else to do. And her five-minute makeup routine is, in the 83-year-old’s words, “easier than making a pot of soup.”

In partnership with Merit Beauty, Stewart demonstrated the process on Instagram while chatting about her home life. First, she prepped her skin with Merit’s Great Skin Instant Glow Serum and Priming Moisturizer. Then, she applied the Complexion Perfecting Stick in Chiffon under her eyes, on her chin, and her forehead, as well as the Bronze Balm to her cheekbones before blending it all out with a flat kabuki brush.

All of the hydrating cream products melted into her skin beautifully—and that’s partially thanks to Merit’s use of hydrating ingredients like fatty acids, and partially thanks to Stewart’s longtime dedication to caring for her complexion from the inside out. “I grow all of my own vegetables,” she shared while blending. “I grow all the greens for my green juice, which I drink every single day, thus, good skin.”

Moving on to eyes, Stewart created a simple shadow in her crease using the Solo Shadow Matte Eye Color in Vachetta, a buildable cream-to-powder formula that contains skin-soothing antioxidants and peptides. To finish the complexion, she topped off her glow with the Day Glow Highlighting Balm.

Next, lashes.“I love mascara,” Stewart said while applying the Clean Lash Lengthening Mascara, a tubing formula that never smudges and contains olive oil and vitamin B5 for softness and shine. “I have nice long eyelashes, and I like to show them off,” she added.

For finishing touches, Stewart fluffed her eyebrows using the Brow 1980 Pomade in Taupe and swiped on some moisturizing Shade Slick Tinted Lip Oil. “I remember my daughter telling me, ‘Mom, please don’t embarrass me. Please, when you leave the house, don’t wear your apron. And please put a little bit of makeup on your face,” she recalled. “And I did that in under five minutes, easier than making a pot of soup. Maybe I should get dressed.”
