Adam Brody got himself in some hot water while promoting his new show, Nobody Wants This.

During an interview for ELLE, Adam sat down with his co-star Kristen Bell to answer some questions, and we have to say, we were pretty surprised with how candid the two were in their answers. However, Adam may have been too candid. About halfway through the video, Kristen asks him, "Does Dave Rygalski deserve the 'Best Boyfriend' title?" to which he responds, "No, he wasn't around that long. We don't know how he would have been in the long term — he could have been love bombing her."

Now, as many people know, Adam played Dave, Lane's incredibly sweet boyfriend (who also happened to be the lead singer of their band, Hep Alien) in season three (yes, I know, he's also mentioned in season 4) of Gilmore Girls. It was a short-lived role for Adam, but that doesn't mean it wasn't impactful. In fact, once fans of Gilmore Girls saw the clip of the interview, they couldn't help but call out Adam's comment.

"Honestly, this is blasphemy! He read the whole Bible for her. He was so good to her," one person wrote. "Dave was the best! He and Lane had the most in common, and he thought of great schemes to make their relationship work, and the speech he gave to Mrs. Kim when asking to take Lane to the prom was perfect," said another. "The diabolical disrespect of Dave Rygalski here is hard to stomach," someone else wrote.

Of course, it was all in good fun, and actually a compliment to Adam, who played such an awesome character.
