Who knew Al Roker was a secret romantic?
The Today show star loves to share moments from his marriage to journalist Deborah Roberts, and he went on Instagram to share an important milestone in their relationship. On September 16, the couple celebrated 29 years of being married, and Al marked the occasion by posting a series of photos documenting their romance.
As folks flipped through wedding portraits, selfies and moments with their kids Courtney, Leila and Nick, Al couldn't help but get sentimental about how much Deborah's love means to him. But in typical Al fashion, he also had to insert a funny quip about their coupledom as well.
"Well, 29 years [went] by pretty fast. Not sure @debrobertsabc would agree," he jokingly wrote in the caption. "Happy anniversary to an amazing wife, friend, mom, journalist and incredible life partner who made sure I survived my crisis a year and a half ago. Though I'm sure I give her pause to reconsider that from time to time. Thanks for not pulling the plug. I love you."
Upon seeing Al's public declaration to Deborah on social media, folks immediately ran to wish them the best on their romantic occasion.
"A perfect couple for sure. Happy Anniversary πβ€οΈβ€οΈπ," one person wrote. "The cutest couple! May you double that number in no time at all!! Congratulations and G-d Bless you both and your beautiful family!! β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ," another declared. "They go so fast, right? It's like you blink, and it's 29 beautiful years! Congratulations π felicidades ππΎππ₯ to many, many more π," a different follower added.
As fans may remember, the NBC weatherman and ABC journalist wed in September 1995, and quickly expanded their family with the births of Leila in 1998 and Nick in 2002 (Courtney is Al's daughter from a previous relationship). They have also become grandparents over the last few years, with the addition of Courtney's daughter Sky Clara Laga, born in July 2023.
And if you thought Al was the only one celebrating his anniversary, Deborah made sure to spotlight their love on X (formerly Twitter).
"Happy anniversary to my love and life partner," she affectionately wrote alongside a candid moment from their wedding.
Congrats to the lovely couple!
